Double-categorical frameworks for algebraic K-theory

Abstract: In the last few years, double categories have made an appearance in the world of algebraic K-theory. The goal of this talk is to introduce the main ideas in some of these new K-theoretical frameworks, highlighting their different features and possible uses. No prior background on K-theory will be assumed.
